Artist Statement
The work explores the relationship between text and textile with language as landscape. Words are woven on an open warp or embroidered on dissolving fabric so the words appear against a void. The current interest is in stitching unreadable poems on paper and gessoed fabric - the Blank Verse series continues a long standing theme of something and nothing.
