Chloe Fremantle

London
Painter working in London, responding to her local environments ( cityscape as well as landscape) , accepting Commissions to respond to a particular place over a long period of time

Concepts The work pursues an ongoing exploration of the complexity and multiplicity of any one given moment in time and expresses personal responses to places/landscapes/relationships as well as to the transience of life. These are presented as fluid and airy images anchored through the use of colour, form, line, pattern and texture. 'Actual' observations are transmuted and rearranged into paintings and collages which form an abstract pictorial language of atmosphere and depth, with a satisfying overall surface interest. Influences Art of the 30's and 40's (Nash, Sutherland, Heron, Agar, Clough, Frankenthaler, Matisse, Braque, Picasso).
