Artist Statement
Bryony Purvis grew up in North East of England. She holds Masters in Fine Art from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, South Africa (2011) and a Bachelor in Fine Art from the University of Aberyswyth (2008).
She is interested in the ways in which we bestow places with significance, and in the intangible experiences we associate with them, which she explores through video, photography, printmaking and installation. She is particularly interested in a Romantic take on Conceptualism and is currently exploring the use of non-traditional materials, and kinetic and gestural features in her work.
