Artist Statement
Bridget Jones as an artist working mainly in architectural glass to commission. Her designs weave together image pattern and colour, and often evolve form prints. born in Glasgow, she studied zoology at Edinburgh University and Leicester University and worked in university teaching and museum education. after a degree in art at Sunderland University, she set up a studio in 1988 in Newcastle upon Tyne.
She designs large-scale work on float glass, screenprinted with fired-on enamels, which can be bent toughened and laminated. She has worked on major stained glass commissions including Edinburgh City Chambers, Arup and Ripon Cathedral.
She has worked collaboratively with writers and other artists and also as a lead artist.
Her practice includes printmaking and her work is commissioned and exhibited alongside her glass and printed vitreous enamel.
