1900 bamboo chopsticks, hand dyed, drilled & threaded in a traditional net formation, make 1 of 3 necklaces based on a Japanese folktale, Momotaro. The body of it is threaded onto a hand-braided cord of cotton remnants bound with silk. Research into play in design led me to deciding the materials, joins & colour for these necklaces using a dice game. Individual pieces with common roots, I like to show them with a mural from the story, giving them context, displaying them as carnival & costume.
