As part of my project about the draft letters of Gwen John, I recently went to Paris to film the apartments and spaces that she occupied including the top floor room where she painted a number of important works including 'A Corner of the Artist's Room in Paris' (1909). I also visited Dieppe, where Gwen John made her final journey to and sadly died shortly after getting off of the train from Paris, in 1939. She is buried in the town's cemetery. Whilst in Paris, I was able to film in the Rodin Archives where they have a number of her letters that she wrote to Auguste Rodin at the height of their affair. The film will be part of a solo exhibition in April 2019 at Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown, Powys.
