    Biography

My work flows between curatorial projects, socially engaged outreach, installation and other forms of making.

My practice behaves much like embodied collage; I collect ideas, imagery and processes from a variety of sources and I layer them over and over shifting their meaning. Playful interventions and experiments stem from these ideas to tease the collective memory and question or confuse common associations and truths, encouraging new meaning to be created.

The need to explore the process of making meaning and enabling others to do the same is paramount. I aim to reveal some of the staging behind the construction and regeneration of personal and cultural cosmologies through explorations of contiguity, value and situated knowledge. There is a sense of play, serendipity and experimentation that is very important, and also a streak of absurdity.

Collaborative work functions to gently distort boundaries and disrupt hierarchies. Being a creator of content and meaning suggests an authoritative voice, and, whenever possible, I instigate oppotunities for people to be autonomous within this process.
