Gareth Bell-Jones, Curator and Director of Flat Time House, Dr Erika Balsom, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at King’s College London will join artist/film maker Amanda Loomes to discuss observation, the Artist Placement Group and working in industry. Erika will be give her paper 'Rehabilitating Observation', whilst Gareth will be discussing The Artists Placement Group and John Latham's idea of the Incidental Person. Amanda will talk about her experience of working as an artist in primary industry and manufacturing.

Amanda’s current solo exhibition 'Formation Level' is on show at Aspex until 24 March 2019. The former civil engineer, turned artist uses experimental documentary techniques to record the processes and hidden narratives of the labour and materials embedded in our roads, including the manufacture of road sweepers.

This event takes place on Saturday 2nd March at 14.00hrs - 17.00hrs.
