Forms of map-making play an important part in the practice, which essentially centres around ambiguities in human perceptions of wildness and wilderness in both urban and pastoral environments. The history and symbolism of power in both the personal and public arenas are also recurrent preoccupations, explored minutely through a wide range of media, methods and locations.
Most recent pre-occupations are with conflicting dialogues between urban and rural experience. Short&Forawrd are urrently working towards a show in Tampere, Finland in 2020: Sculptural assemblages drawings and paintings referencing vernacular architecture, animal traps tunnels and abandoned mines around Cwmrheidol where they live.
