Our Artist in the Community for December 2022 was artist and yoga practitioner Kajal Nisha Patel. During the month Kajal led a series of online workshops.
FIRE. Internal Action & The Solar Chakra; Finding purpose using Playful Determination.
An introduction to pranayama (control/manipulation of the breath). You will learn energising breathing techniques to ignite the internal fire which is required for physical action. This method of pranayama can stimulate pranic (vital) energy towards the brain and cells in our bodies, to overcome lethargy and sluggishness so that the body and mind can begin to work in harmony.
We will consider the adult body as a repository for thought, feeling and emotion. Pranayama is combined with hip opening yoga asanas (postures), to reintroduce freedom into the physical body so that the mind can follow. We experiment with the element of play, to stimulate a lighthearted determination as we work towards our vision, values, goals and purpose.
