Axisweb - a member of Visual Arts UK
In a difficult climate for arts funding, it is very important that the visual arts develop a strong collective voice. This is why Axisweb is a founding member of Visual Arts UK (VAUK).
Visual Arts UK is an alliance of national organisations which support and promote contemporary art and craft.
Including the key national membership bodies:
- a-n: the Artists Information Company
- AIR
- Artquest
- Axisweb
- Contemporary Art Society
- Crafts Council
- engage: the National Association for Gallery Education
- International Curators Forum
- The National Federation of Artists Studio Providers
- VAGA: Visual Arts & Galleries Association
Together, these organisations represent a wide range of interests and offer policy-makers credible insights into the challenges that face our sector, from the precarious nature of artists' livelihoods to the desperate under-funding of public collections.
VAUK aims to influence policy-making by any appropriate means, including sharing of intelligence and data, lobbying and responses to policy or news, holding of events, sharing and publishing of research and joint meetings.
