Based in Minerva Works, Vivid Projects' main focus is the exploration of film, video and performance through their exciting interdisciplinary arts programme.
Vivid Projects is based in an atmospheric warehouse space on Warwick Bar, a complex of former factories and warehouses in Birmingham's Eastside.
The new agency has been developed by the curatorial team behind ‘VIVID’ which ran an
acclaimed seven year programme in Digbeth from 2005-2012 that commissioned, produced and exhibited over 120 projects, including 27 international residencies and exhibitions presented in the UK and internationally.
During 2013-15, Vivid Projects will be curated and programmed by Yasmeen Baig-Clifford (Director/Curator) and Laura Coult (Programme Manager). The agency is collaborative, and will be
working with associate curators and programmers throughout the first two year programme.
Spring/Summer 2013 will see an exciting range of events at Warwick Bar and across the Midlands, with highlights including collaborations with the Art Institute of Chicago for University of Birmingham's first Arts and Science Festival; live work with Cairo based arts activists; Jarman Award shortlisted Karen Mirza and Brad Butler; a public art commission with a twist from Simon Pope; and a residency for the opening of the Library of Birmingham. will be working with associate curators and programmers throughout the first two year programme, including including Kaye Winwood and Antonio Roberts in 2013.
