What do you do if there aren't enough studios? Set up your own of course! Cheryl Jones talks to us about getting things done at Grand Union.
Set up in 2010 in response to the lack of studio provision in Birmigham, Grand Union is home to eight purpose-built studios and has a project space that acts as a studio for emerging curators.
We were particularly impressed by self-contained studio units, designed by Matt Higginbottom from Queen and Crawford, which are well-lit and (most importantly!) warm.
Grand Union is an experimental platform for those wanting to test out and develop new ideas. They provide opportunities to become an associate curator and offer bursaries to budding writers.
