Creative Technologist

The Opportunity

Axis is searching for a freelance creative technologist to join our small team at an arts charity committed to making a measurable positive impact for artists, communities and audiences.

You will have the ability to hit the ground running and work collaboratively with our community of strategists, artists, participants and developers to explore the ‘art of the possible’ as well as creating future-facing digital explorations.

Currently we are testing the beta version of a new online community exchange platform and work will be centred around this development. 

We have 3 key asks:

  1. Redevelop through user feedback our new beta community exchange platform

  2. Help us explore the boundaries of digital technology to support our charitable mission.

  3. Identify opportunities for new developments and create proof of concepts.

You are:

  • An expert-level coder and technology tinker;

  • Driven by improving the end-to-end experience for users;

  • A bridge between ideas and technology;

  • Able to curate creative ideas and translate through innovative tech-based solutions and prototypes;

  • Interested in investigating and experimenting with emerging platforms and technologies (with a particular focus on open source) to find solutions;

  • Willing to educate, inform and inspire others on the latest available technologies, platforms and frameworks

  • Knowledgeable of online communities 

  • Knowledge of Wordpress 

Experience and Expectations

We would expect you to have a minimum of 3 years professional experience and a portfolio of representative projects.

Fee

£1,500.00 flat fee for delivery May to August 2021

Expected work times: Approximately .5 days a week over over 4 months =  8 days.
