Mobile Sports Foundation (e-flyer), 2008
participatory action
3 hours
The Mobile Sports Foundation had its inaugural meeting in August when Townley and Bradby embarked on a drift through Liverpool with artists Kevin Hunt and Penny Whitehead, seeing the city as a series of spaces in which to play tennis. The places used as impromptu courts included Princes Street, Wapping Dock, and Liverpool 1. The second meeting took place in October. About a dozen people collaboratively planned a route, and then played tennis in a variety of places including Chavasse Park (part of the newly privatised shopping district). The Superlambanana also featured, acting as a net for one game.
