Claire Beattie is based in Duns, Scotland
I am an oil painter working mainly on canvas. I am drawn over and over to areas of my local landscape in the Scottish Borders where there are distinct landscape features set against seemingly empty areas. I am interested in the compositional potential of these abstract spaces and the depth and intensity they create in the work.
