Philip Maltman is based in London
I am a painter for whom the "canvas" is like a stage or a museum cabinet which can contain disparate images or objects linked generically but also arranged with other more random images, marks, and words which are governed by the materials and the continuing dialogue of painting. Spirit of place is important, sublect matter is often site specific.
