Sonya Walters is based in St Ives, South West
Colour is the all encompassing ingredient for me, triggering ideas which express an excitement in my surroundings and a regard for and reaction to the landscape and events that occur within it. Paring down to simple shapes and visual symbols allows the colour to take over, drawing the viewer into the 'blueness' of blue...yellow...pink... in any particular canvas.
