details about this work

Susan Banks is based in Louth, Eastern

Susan Banks’ recent work explores the irony that painting reveals the invisible and impossible. It returns some narrative tropes to the abstract hoping to elude occasionally unpleasant associations encountered in the art of the past.
Oil paint is manipulated in a fluid state resulting in rich textures, some embedded with other materials and some contrasted with multi-layered shiny acrylic surfaces
