Alison J Carr is based in Sheffield, Yorkshire
I am a strayed photographer at heart, and my practice now takes a number forms: photography, video, performance and writing. My life changed at a car-boot sale in 2005, when I found cigarette card pin-ups of showgirls from 1939. For reasons unfathomable to me, I wanted to be in the photographs. Subsequently, my work deals with my love of showgirls.
