study for a nice cup of tea, 2012 - 2012

details about this work

Sue Stone is based in Grimsby, Eastern

I use hand and machine stitch as a means of mark making, onto applied, recycled fabric. I enjoy the ‘out of place’, the unexpected, the bizarre. My textile and mixed media work is built in layers : of time, of thought,of fabric and of stitch. My current series of work explores displacement and questions the sense of belonging/not belonging.
