David Lucas is based in Sheffield, Yorkshire
An interest in the natural world, astrophysics and philosophy inspires the thinking behind David Lucas's aesthetic; using gestural marks, intense colour and painterly abstraction he creates an evocative visual language. Lucas attempts to unravel the experience of the moment from both external and internal points of view. His creative process incorporates a superstructure and the accidental potential within it.
