Chris Pickup is based in Nottingham, East Midlands
The work is derived from our urban environment; it focuses on the aspects of that environment that we habitually ignore. My most recent project was a commission for City University London which was based on a photographic study of one of their stair wells. This works questions our perceptions of reality, beauty and abstraction.
