Julie Caves is based in London
Julie Caves uses painting to investigate colour. The paintings are thick with colour, built of many transparent layers to create a substantial structure that refracts light. There is also an element of mystery, of nearly hidden things, traces of decision-making nearly buried; you must take some time and really look. She also makes artists’ books.
