Artist statement

Concepts
My work, which includes site specific public sculpture, sculpture and installation, combines the natural and the man-made with themes largely drawn from nature interpreted through industrial materials and engineering techniques. Multiples, reflection, transparency, movement and light are present. I seek equivalents for elemental movement, the human body, objects in the landscape. In developing ideas on a large scale, transformation occurs.

Influences
Technological advances. Work of scientists researching weather, structure of planet, water. History of places in which a work has been commissioned. Landscape and history of Scotland. Weather, weather research.
