Artist statement

I am a recent graduate artist concerned with photography, particularly focusing on disrupting our relationship to the digital still photographic image. Drawing from either found images or my own photographs, I take traditional subject matter, often altering the code that the image is formed from- introducing visual inconsistency, errors, and artificial colour.

Heterotopic in nature, the work plays with the space between our understanding of the world, our ever increasing reliance on images and our ability to understand them.

The works are then printed onto aluminium, producing a finished work that mimics the screens they were produced on, or displayed online though a blog, as part of my own experimentation with online exhibitions.
