Artist statement

By exploring the limits and properties of materials and actions, I use mass produced objects to make spatial interventions which challenges viewer perceptions and encourage the act of re-looking. My practice is multi disciplinary but is underpinned by drawing.

The drawings and constructions hover somewhere between artistic practice and scientific experimentation. It is through observation and trial and error that I hope to expose the moments of presence which we can experience in our negotiation of everyday materials. Recent work exposes repetitious actions and creates situations for these actions to be disrupted.

By engaging with seemingly unremarkable moments, I see the viewer as participator; their perception and presence in the space activates the work.
