Artist statement
Sara Pinfold's practice is primarily object orientated. Through experimentation with chosen items and basic materials she aims to disassemble ideas about the function of objects, whether it be through repurposing existing items or creating new art-design objects. The work endeavours to expose raw feelings of warmth, optimism and hospitality. This is transpired through confidence of text and image, comfort of fabrics and colour, and the welcoming nature of light. There is also a relation between this to a surface layer of nostalgia, consumerism and a slight note of surrealism.
