Artist statement
The potential and power of film is my study and my practice. I wish to bring a new consciousness to the cinematic experience as apposed to a conventional one; in where the spectator remains static and non-participatory. These themes are evoked through the filmic narrative of my videos, and the installation's sculptural form.
I am attracted to film's pliability and malleability. With such an abundance of this material in the world, I frequently roam the archives to restore forgotten documents, to new monuments. I believe a film is never completely complete; it is a material to be played with, and to live on with their new authors.
