Artist statement

My current work emerges from a continuing research into the phenomenology of perception. My latest animations begin with a visual investigation into natural and man-made light. The resulting photographs highlight my interests in colour and simplistic abstract forms. The sequential transition of these photographic images is manipulated to create movement on a two dimensional surface. My animations are projected to create an ephemeral image that can be adapted to the rooms they are exhibited in. I am inspired by the work of James Turrell, Rothko, Turner and Robert Irwin.
