Artist statement
Ryan McClelland was born in Liverpool in 1978, he moved to London in 1997 to study at Camberwell College of Art, subsequently studying at Goldsmiths College and then obtaining his MA in Fine Art Printmaking from the Royal College of Art in 2007.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including exhibitions at the Oscar Neiymer Museum in Brazil, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The William Morris Gallery London, The Venice Academia, Italy and Boston University USA.
His practice spans Drawing Print and sculpture as well as his own studio practice Ryan regularly lectures at various Art schools and teaches children and young adults with autism and SEN at the Bridge School.
In 2010 he was appointed as Printmaking Fellow at the Royal Academy, and as a trustee of IntoArt an artists collective including adults with learning difficulties based at studio Voltaire. Ryan currently lives in north London with his wife Leah and their cat Pannay Alun.
