Artist statement
Exploring video as a textural, organic medium is seing my work embrace and reexamine the dynamic sensual aesthetic qualities found within the impressionist movement. The natural world around me with its rhythmical repetition, is playing a very inspirational role. Keep on questioning the very nature of the digital video medium, can it go beyond the boundaries of resolution, and pixels; is it possible to abstractly illustrate soul, heart and emotion, something the impressionist could do with a single brush stroke.
Currently exhibiting recent ICA sound commission as part of 'Soundworks' group show running alongside the premier showing of Bruce Naumens sonic installation 'Days'. Firstsite nominated me for the commission.
