Painting: Oil on canvas, Printing, Drawing, Landscape painting, Portrait painting
APPEARING AND DISAPPEARING
In the hot days of summer, I lay on my back in a swimming pool and looked up at a mountain with snow on its peaks. The mists rolled and furled, and the landscape revealed itself in parts and sections.
I repeated the activity every day and I never saw that expanse of scenery in the same way.
This series of paintings explores those events.
I have spent a great deal of time this year experimenting with paint and developing techniques in order to evoke that experience. Places change and people disappear: I attempt to recall things forever gone which will always be a part of me.
