Artist statement
Through painting and print I explore deeply personal, psychological issues and emotional responses to contemporary life and current affairs and through this I draw on my own experiences related to human relationships and memories of my childhood and my concerns become universal rather than specific.
I work instinctively and communicate directly often exploring mans struggle for survival whether it be with his own emotions or his environment and although my work can be edgy and dark there is often a glimmer of hope and humour.
