Artist statement
Current projects
I continue to make photographs of the regeneration of Weston-super-Mare.
Commission 2012 - I am exploring 3D printing with Exeter Pheonix and the University of Exeter, and am looking to integrate new printed elements into models or films of models.
Visiting Birnbeck - I have been making visits to Birnbeck Island since 2009 with my camera. The island is linked to the mainland by a pier, which is no longer open to the public. It awaits redevelopment or collapse into the sea.
Previous Projects
Urban Documents - This national touring exhibition has both colour documentary photographs and works made in the studio by photographing cardboard models. The subjects are predominately from Weston-super-Mare, but also Bristol and beyond, and explore the exteriors of buildings that have been adapted over time. Back views of mansions, hotels, and commercial buildings with added staircases, roof windows and air-conditioning units. Photographed in flat light and almost monochrome in appearance.
