Artist statement

This work started with an investigation into the differences between moving image and still image. It is said that photography is a more closed medium than moving image, which opens universes by introducing time into the images. However it could be said that the random fragmented reading of the photograph is of more open character than the irreversible temporal constraint of the films. Therefore both mediums have the contradiction of being closed but open. My idea is to bring both mediums advantages and disadvantages together successfully, as Chris Marker, with his controversial film La jete. The lack of sequential images force us to use our imagination more than moving image, which give us seeding that come into full bloom in our eyes, in our imaginations, and our minds. In this way, I believe that the Photo movie has the potential to engage us as successfully as novels and photography do.
