Biography

Yvonne is an artist and curator based in Bradford. Yvonne graduated from Leeds College of Art and Design in 2006 with a First Class BA (hons) degree in Art and Design Interdisciplinary. In 2013 she was awarded AHRC funding to complete her MFA at University of Leeds. She has curated a number of exhibitions in empty shop units and public spaces as Director of Community Interest Company Art in Unusual Spaces.  She is part of Black Dogs and in this art collective she has worked on projects and exhibited at MK Gallery (Milton Keynes), SWG3 Gallery (Glasgow) and at No Soul for Sale at Tate Modern (London).  Internationally she has undertaken a 4 month artist residency at Cittadellarte Fondazione Pistoletto, Biella (Italy) and has spent 100 days working on a number of the 'Activated Projects' at dOCUMENTA (13), Kassel (Germany).  Yvonne has delivered artist talks and workshops on Foundation, BA and MA level in curation, peformance and new media at different institutions including Bradford College, Leeds College of Art, York College, Liverpool john Moores, University of Leeds, Leeds Met and Leeds City College, For up to date information about Yvonne's curatorial and artistic practice please visit www.yvonnecarmichael.com
