Biography

Working in installation, sculpture and drawing, my practice explores my interest in community, isolation, shelter and home. Many of my works are large composites of smaller parts, as a metaphorical reference to individuals within a larger community. Using imagery such as houses, roofs, and other protective structures, I engage ideas of comfort and shelter, emphasising the fragility of our individual state and our need for support, both physical and emotional. A playful and explorative approach combined with a weighty subject matter creates a balance of moods, producing art that is equal parts contemplative and celebratory.
