Biography

As an experimental, research led artist I use a variety of mixed-media techniques to interrogate ideas of site. This includes traditional and contemporary photographic processes, often combining one or more of these with other methods of visual representation such as stitch, which I use in my most recent body of work The Farm. My practice aims to create a dialogue with historical and contemporary art and theory, exploring landscape and the wider subject of site. Each project explores site through a different anchor, whether that is the Welsh landscape or a distant farm in Poland, but all aim to discuss the ability to represent site through visual representation. Alongside my practice I am also an art and photography teacher in local organisations and institutions having recently graduated from an MA in Photography in 2011 and a PGCE in Art and Design in 2012.
