Meera Chauda

Meera Chauda is a visual artist living and working in London whose work combines collage, stitch drawing and photography. Through her practise Meera investigates ways of combining images and objects from childhood stories both Asian and European, in order to construct a new narrative exploring identity and place. Within these stories she is particularly interested in fearless and forthright girls exploring unknown territory in which they express their hopes, dreams and fears yet never escaping their battle of being home and away. Images are cut out, transformed, and displaced leaving you to consider the relationship between them. She is currently creating a new body of work pursuing her interest in drawing and object. With this she is exploring making connections between displaced images to create fragments of narrative containing the minimum of detail necessary. read full statement
