‘Mary Fletcher Solo Show’, St.Ives Arts Club

Mary has a solo show at St.Ives Arts Club from April 2nd to April 8th, free admission, 11am to 4pm daily.

Mary Fletcher works in a studio at White's workshops, Porthmeor Rd., St.Ives and visitors can drop in there.
At present she has been making studies of her husband, Pedyr Prior, who started to accompany her sometimes because an unknown vandal had been defacing her name and posters and she felt wary of her unknown enemy.
Mary has been using a variety of media and approaches to capture how Pedyr sits, reading, listening to music and chatting. It's a new theme, using this repetitious, familiar intimacy as a focus for a series of works. Her use of line is decisive and rhythmic and she often works on a vibrant background.
As Mary Fletcher is one of the quite rare artists in St.Ives that love to draw people. There will be other figuraive works showing images drawn swiftly.
