My purpose and aim is to not only to convey a sense of mystery but convey something of the complexities of the human condition and therefore hoping for my work to draw the viewer into a space where they can find more of themselves.

It is essential for me to work with the physical act of touching which helps me get more in touch with my deeper self and go beyond the familiar. In this piece I used old dressmaking material evoking memory and experience combined with immediacy of drawing and painting. Layering the surfaces gives an indication of the restoration process, the building of the self, layer upon layer building a sense of self that was once lost.
