Laura Gethen Smith

I make geometric paintings using oil, acrylic or gouache. Working mainly on canvas or paper, the paintings often evolve as part of a series of pictures which may be continued over months or years finally presenting a collective statement about a theme.

Work on paper includes collage and drawing with drawings frequently leading to small pieces in gouache or ink and these I consider as paintings in their own right though they may also be the concept for a larger work on canvas.
