Janet Curley Cannon

Artist, Maker, Writer

Janet Curley Cannon, an American born artist based in Berkshire, is an ardent observer of the incidental and transitory characteristics of the built environment. She is inspired by urban structures, city skylines and the neglected spaces found within towns and cities. Ageing surfaces provide her with clues to explore the political interests, social habits and economic concerns of a place, both past and present. She uses photography and digital print as part of a wider mixed-media practice including sculpture and site-specific installations/commissions. read full statement
