Biography

Hannah Westwood's site specific wall drawings display abstracted images of data, space, architecture, maps and systems; suggesting and utilising systems of control, but simultaneously attempting to destruct them. By placing the site specific installations back within architecture, another dimension is added to the architectonic nature of the work. This process is essential to the act of following a system as well as trying to disobey its rules. The installations fully immerse the viewer within layers and structures, and an overwhelming influx of information in order to highlight social concerns of power, control, security and personal narrative.
