Biography

With an emphasis in architecture, using history as a starting point, my practice encompasses painting, printing and drawing. I am fascinated by how aesthetics and historical events that often contribute to current affairs are so intertwined and through found and archived imagery I endeavor to compose and create spaces that suggest a parallel world and offer a space for dreaming. My imagery often alludes to excess and abundance that verges into corrosion. However, despite the starting points referencing futility and decay, both my paintings through the use of light and translucencies as well as my large prints through the erosion of solvents, are striving towards an abstraction that suggests an exit point away from the known and towards the otherworldly.
