Elisa Hudson

Artist, Maker

My work is about painting the world around me and trying to capture form and light with paint. I have a continuing fascination with natural structures and the environment. After graduating in 1995 from Goldsmith's, London (BA Fine Art/Art history) I worked in London for several years painting and exhibiting work including, the 1997 Words and Pictures (issue 9) which was launched at the Eagle Gallery, Farringdon and sold at the ICA and London Contemporary Print Fair. In 1998 I moved to Kent and for several years assisted and modelled for the late John Ward CBE. He mentored me whilst I spent time within his studio, an invaluable experience that I am grateful for. Over the last decade, several residencies and a teaching post have enabled me to explore different avenues of creative thinking and help young adults to achieve success in their public examinations. My work is exhibited in Kent, London, and Europe and I have been commissioned to paint works for property in New Zealand and the USA. I am very happy to undertake commissions, including portrait drawings, mural projects and I am available for private tuition.
