Elisa Hudson

Artist, Maker

I paint portraits, landscapes and still life works. My work is about painting the world around me and trying to capture form and light with paint. I have a fascination with natural structures and the environment. After graduating in 1995 from Goldsmith's, London (BA Fine Art/Art history) I worked in London for several years painting and exhibiting work including, the 1997 Words and Pictures (issue 9) which was launched at the Eagle Gallery, Farringdon and sold at the ICA and London Contemporary Print Fair. In 1998 I moved back to Kent. For several years I assisted and modelled for the late John Ward CBE. He mentored me for a number of years whilst I spent time within his studio. Several residencies and a teaching post enabled me to explore different avenues of creative thinking and working with public exam aged children and young adults was a rewarding opportunity. My work is exhibited in Kent, London, and Europe and commissioned to paint works for property in New Zealand and the USA. I am available for private tuition. I have experience teaching adults as well as pupils who wish to enter scholarship examinations. As well as continued studio practice, I am currently working as an assistant to an art psychotherapist, in the heath service. read full statement
