Alison Bickmore

Artist, Project manager, Consultant, Art therapist

Alison’s work consciously explores, through landscape, the geology of place ‘layered’ with the experience of being human – making visible the shifts, scars and events that mark both the natural world and the human psyche. Lately she’s been using rocks and other organic matter as ‘templates’.  Hand held, she draws around the material, the repetitious marks made around these ‘templates’ enable a pattern to emerge, a flowing pattern.

Alison’s cognitive approach to her work is underpinned by the fact that she is also an art psychotherapist with over 10 years experience, where she is continually observing how the unconscious self fits with the external world.
