Kuhfladenblüte 1 (Turd Blossom1), 2006
The works presented by Lia Anna Hennig are at once about food and food consumption. A series of videos are presented alongside a series of ink drawings. The videos are obsessive, humorous and mesmerising; one of which borders on the repulsive. These are in contrast to the quirky, delicate black and red ink drawings. The common thread running between the two media is the fascination Hennig has with food. You feel drawn to watch what may appear to be innocuous works but when observed at greater length the works presented convey a disturbing undertone.
