A reciprocal process of becoming, 2006
Krisdy Shindler presents four backlit painted works on acrylic and an animation of paint applied and reworked on glass. While there is an inevitable self-awareness in using a medium that has died and been reborn with unfeasible regularity, I sense that within her carefully constructed frame of 'enquiry' here is an artist with a confidence in the idea of beauty, a sense of colour, composition and context. These are talents to be cherished and I hope Shindler will now have the courage to invest in their development and encounters people with the vision to place them in the world.
